• The journey Innocence had to take from being a carefree teenager to being able to forgive herself was sometimes too hard to read or listen to. But as she continued her growth there was Kano right there waiting for her...along with her "brother" Zephaniah, her mom and dad. This was a great book about learning to forgive yourself and to ask for help because at some point in our lives we all need some type of help. This was an amazing standalone and I highly recommend it!!
• This is my first read by this author, but not my last. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters and I couldn't put it down. Really loved Kano and the love he had for Innocence. Innocence was in a dark place and the love of Kano gave her life. Beautiful love story and can't wait to read more about these characters as well as reading about Zephaniah and Kimiko. So glad with the way everything turned out. Good job KB Cole.
• Innocence lived in her own self imposed mental hell after a tragedy that she blamed herself for. Kano had endured and lost just as much. They were two people who lost loved ones who they felt responsible for. I was glad they found each other.
• Amazing standalone that touched on some serious issues around mental illness.. after we got past those things I enjoyed the love story that was told.. amazing characters and the delivery was great.. ready for the next part
• KB knows what she's doing whirlpool! This was EVERYTHING! I have all her books and each story shows her growth. Kano was a fool but I loved him. Good job sis. Don't make me wait too long. 1 click. It's worth it😘
• I love how a majority of your books have strong father figures. Definitely changes the perception that we as black women don’t know a good man because we have absentee fathers. Kano is the new book bae.
• KB Cole you never disappoint me.... This book had me captured from beginning to the ending... It was soooooo good... Kano is bae... I'm so happy that Innocence found her way and let love in and finally forgave herself... Zep is bae also I can't wait to hear his story I had a feeling him and Kimiko was going to get together...
• This story was just wow. Beside the errors. I loved this story and there was certainly parts that had me emotional but i would read it a billion times over. Cant wait to read Zephaniah and Kimiko's story.
