Always Dakota The Dakota Series Debbie Macomber 9780778318941 Books Reviews
- Very good book. It keeps you entertained throughout the entire book. Almost all of Debbie Macomber's books do. I have always wanted to read the rest of the story but was never able to find it at the Library. This gave me the opportunity to finish reading the series & find out what happens. I read the 1st 2 books years ago & when I finally saw the entire series in ebooks I was very happy. It keeps you wanting to know what happens next & delivers a good story without all of the sex that so many books do today. So for a good story this is the series you should read.
- I loved the series. Each story is great. I think I've read the entire series at least three times.
'Always Dakota' was about Margaret a girl raised by a father that didn't know what to do with a little girl and basically raised her more like a son. She befriended a new comer to the little town of Buffalo Valley and asked her to help her learn to be more womanly so she could attract the attentions of a man she'd fallen in love with. This story is how Margaret and the man she had her "sights" set on would eventually fall in love.
The stories of several other women and their men all fall together with a few twists that make all the books a very enjoyable read.
I love Debbie Macombers writing. Everyone I read from her is so enjoyable that I've reread most of them a couple of times. - The individual stories of Buffalo Valley, North Dakota are woven into a memorable tapestry of people tied to the land through farming and ranching while struggling to keep the small community alive.
A large ranch is the primary setting of this third book in the Dakota series about the residents of this community.
Debbie Macomber's characters are always interesting. This story is not the usual sweet heroine pursued by the perfect gentlemanly hero. Margaret Clemens and Matt Eilers can both be losers. Are they really one-dimensional, self-centered, egotistical, spoiled brats? Can they possibly build a mutually respectful relationship. What circumstances can bring them together? - Debbie Macomber's books are always sweet and nice and easy to read, easy to enjoy.
Lindsey moves to North Dakota on a whim and of course with a lot of hard work, she wins over the suspicious community and the handsomest bachelor in town. How they get from meeting to marriage is fraught with tension and misunderstanding...which I found to be rather contrived and could have been solved with a bit of conversation.
I'm a sucker for a good love story, but the love interest is not the male/female kind that intrigues me the most, it is the falling in love with a place - new and different that what Lindsey has known that is the most interesting and finding love, friendship and acceptance in a place far out of her comfort zone and family - that was I enjoyed. The drawing of the characters by virtue of their interactions and interests are what I found most appealing.
Debbie Macomber has a knack for making a reader want to explore new places just because she paints them so beautifully with her words. - Outstanding! I loved the story & all of the characters in this book! It held me captive, & I didn't want to put the book down. I loved them all, but Buffalo Bob & Merrily & Margaret & Matt captured my heart with their heartbreaking episodes, but was so happy for them, especially for Margaret & Matt & their two babies. This was the absolutely best of the Dakota series!
- I very much enjoyed this book by one of my favorite authors. Debbie Macomber writes good, clean books. I enjoy books that do not contain graffic descriptions of intimate events or use of some unfavorable language. Debbie Macomber has been my go to author for many years. I have read many of her books and I look forward to new books as they are published.
- I have really loved this series - laughed and cried several times. My only complaint, the only one - is the format and typos. Thai book isn't even broken up into chapters. Many times the next line skips you to a whole new subject. I realize this isn't the author's fault but it really disturbs the reader. Seriously considering giving up secondary to this very poor quality.
- I had read the first two books in this series and wanted to read the third to complete it. Always Dakota provided a great ending to a great series. I'm a big fan of Debbie Macomber's books and writing, so this is one of many series of her books that I have rear.
